Guacamole, saved my life.

I was on the phone last night, and someone told me that I am not pushing 40 but pulling closer to it. I thought that was a good way to look at it. I may be getting older. But I am also finding that I enjoy life much more. I see, now, more beauty in the everyday. Things I walked past, sometimes ran, are worth appreciation and hold immense value. Those things that I put so much stock in before, really aren't so important in the grand scheme. I really like people who can turn a typically negative thought, into something positive. Providing, a new way of thinking or being, on an old idea or a begrudgingly accepted opinion. Kinda fresh...exciting even.

It is sort of like these quiet Sunday mornings, I so enjoy. Sipping my fresh brewed hot coffee, listening to the birds outside my window, just cozying up on my sofa to play with my camera or reading. I don't feel lonely in these moments at all. Just...calm. It makes me think of all the ways I am blessed. Family is a given. Whether near or far, whether I spent my childhood with them, or not. (and really don't we learn much more about each other as adults, than we ever did as children? Even though, I wish I could have shared that with some of my siblings, I certainly value what is now.) The same with friends. I have a few that live close and many that live afar. But I value them just the same. My Rachel, goes without saying. A bit inexplicable and really no value in specific terms that I could place on her. It's immeasurable. She is my Joy. Plain and simple.
